About Global Emergency Contacts
A free public safety project. Our mission is simple: make sure no one ever dies because they didn't know who to call.
Our Mission
Every year, thousands of tourists, expats, and travelers find themselves in emergency situations in foreign countries โ and don't know who to call. They search Google, find outdated blog posts, or waste precious minutes navigating unfamiliar government websites.
Global Emergency Contacts was built to solve this problem permanently. We provide a single, fast, reliable source for verified emergency contact numbers across 150+ countries โ available offline, loading in under one second, designed for panic situations.
This is a free public service. It will always be free. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no barriers between a person in distress and the help they need.
Why We Built This
The existing options are broken. Wikipedia pages are dense and not mobile-friendly. Embassy websites are slow and hard to navigate. Google AI can hallucinate emergency numbers. Travel blogs go outdated. None of them work offline.
We wanted something that works like a emergency kit in your pocket โ instant, reliable, offline-capable, and designed specifically for the moment of panic when every second counts.
The result is a Progressive Web App that caches all country data on your first visit, works in airplane mode, displays numbers at sizes readable under stress, and links directly to official government sources for every single number.
What Makes Us Different
Government-Source Verified
Every number links directly to the official government or emergency service website that confirms it. We don't guess. We don't copy from other websites.
Works Without Internet
Install as a PWA and all data works offline. Airplane mode, no signal, remote areas โ it doesn't matter. The numbers are always there.
Under 1 Second Load Time
Pure static HTML. No JavaScript frameworks. No server round trips. The fastest possible delivery of life-critical information.
Panic-Ready Design
Numbers displayed at 48โ64px. High contrast red on white. One-tap calling. No popups. No distractions. Designed for tunnel vision.
Emergency Phrases
Key emergency phrases in the local language with pronunciation guides โ because language barriers shouldn't cost lives.
Find Nearest Services
GPS-powered button that opens Google Maps showing the nearest hospital, police station, or fire brigade to your exact location.
How We Verify Data
Primary Source Research
Every number is found from official government ministry websites, national police websites, or official emergency service pages โ not from other websites or Wikipedia.
Cross-Reference Verification
Each number is verified against at least two independent official sources before being added to our database.
Regular Re-Verification
All numbers are re-checked against official sources at least annually. The verification date is displayed on every number card.
Community Reporting
Users can report incorrect numbers via our contact page. Reports are investigated and corrected within 48 hours.
